Conductivity Cells

4909 Ball Valve or Insertion Mounting

Conductivity measurement helps address vital issues including corrosion and scaling reduction, ensuring water purity, contamination monitoring and process chemical strength verification. Honeywell’s 4909 series of conductivity cells provides highly reliable and accurate conductivity measurement to satisfy diverse process needs.

Honeywell’s 4909 series comprise ball valve assemblies that can be mounted in large pipe diameters or directly in the side of a process tank to measure conductivity in applications ranging from sensitive ultra-pure water applications to highly conductive industrial processes.

While the 4909 series comprises ball valve, mounting nipple, stuffing box assembly and the conductivity cell, the 4908 is the just the replacement cell used with the 4909 assembly. The ball valve assemblies are available in both stainless steel and CPVC plastic.

Honeywell offers an array of cell constants allowing users to select the one best suited for their application. Equipped with a wide range of capabilities, these cells ensure accurate conductivity measurement.

The 4909 series includes a ball valve for mounting the cell, allowing insertion or removal of the cell without interruption to the process. Equipped with high temperature and pressure limits, these cells provide continuous and reliable measurements at temperatures up to 140 degree C and pressures up to 150 psig.

The conductivity cells can be supplied with nickel, Monel or platinum electrodes depending on cell constant requirement of the user. Corrosion resistant materials of construction for the cell bodies can withstand all types of process environments.

The 4909 series simplifies the conductivity measurement process and improves overall process efficiency. It provides users with reliable and accurate data in a cost effective manner. The rugged design of this series ensures easy installation, maintenance and replacement.

4973 Flow Thru Mounting

Conductivity measurement is crucial for a wide range of processes from sensitive ultra-pure water applications to highly conductive industrial processes. Honeywell’s 4973 series of conductivity cells ensures reliable and accurate conductivity measurement and is suitable for all-purpose applications.

The 4973 series ensures reliable, continuous measurement of electrolytic conductivity in industrial water processes where the temperature and pressure limits are high.

Made of polyethersulfone (PES) for high-corrosion resistance, the cells are available with titanium electrodes (for 0.01 and 0.1 cell constants) and high-density graphite (for 1.0 and 10.0 cell constants). The wide array of cell constants available makes them ideal for diverse applications.

With multiple mounting options such as, flow-thru and in-line, the 4973 series is easy to install. The 4974 style uses this series of cells for sanitary installations. The cells are mounted using an industry standard tri-clamp flange, a common mounting arrangement.

Conductivity cells actually measure the resistance of the liquid they are in. The 4973 series provides continuous, reliable measurements at temperatures up to 140°C and pressures up to 250 psig.

For in-line applications these cells can be installed directly into the process pipe in a separately supplied ¾-inch tee or in a by-pass stream. For flow-thru applications the cell is mounted in a separately supplied flow chamber.

The cells keep the electrodes and the temperature compensator immersed in the stream flow, ensuring that the cell responds quickly and accurately to changes in both solution concentration and temperature. For sanitary clean-in-place (CIP) piping systems, the 4974 style includes standard 1 ½-inch or 2-inch CIP fittings.

The 4973 series simplifies the conductivity measurement process and improves overall process efficiency. It provides users with a reliable, cost-effective and accurate solution and is suited for a wide range of applications, including high purity water measurements.

The rugged design of this series ensures easy installation, maintenance and replacement.

4905 Immersion or Flow Thru Mounting

Conductivity measurement is vital for a wide range of processes from sensitive ultra-pure water applications to highly conductive industrial processes. Honeywell’s 4905 series of conductivity cells ensures accurate conductivity measurement, and is suitable for all-purpose applications.

The 4905 series of conductivity cells provides continuous and reliable conductivity measurements under varying temperature and pressure conditions. Constructed with rugged, corrosion resistant material that is guaranteed to last long, this series of conductivity cells is available with nickel, monel or platinum electrodes.

An assortment of mounting options, including Quick Disconnect cables, makes it suitable for a wide range of applications and also reduces installation costs.

The 4905 series’ corrosive resistant polyethersulfone (PES) body can withstand harsh industrial environments. The conductivity cells have high temperature and pressure limits and can perform at temperatures and pressures up to 140°C and 250 psig for in-line applications, and 85°C and 250 psig for immersion applications.

These conductivity cells are installed in insertion applications or flow chambers using 1” NPT threads. For immersion applications, a support tube (supplied by the user) is mounted on top of these conductivity cells.

The Quick Disconnect feature available with in-line applications enables easy cell replacement after the initial installation by allowing users to utilize the existing cable. It eliminates the need to unwire and wire a new cell to the analyzer.

The 4905 series simplifies the conductivity measurement process and improves overall process efficiency. It provides users with reliable and accurate data in a cost effective manner. The rugged design of this series ensures easy installation, maintenance and replacement.
