Gas Detection

GASBAL Hydrocarbon Gas Detection System

GASBAL Hydrocarbon Gas Detection System is designed to detect and analyze gas concentration in closed spaces such as ballast tanks, void or dry spaces. The system scrolls each input and activates an alarm if any dangerous gas is detected.

GASBAL Hydrocarbon Gas Detection System can be installed onboard tankers, offshore vessels and rigs. It scrolls each input and activates an alarm if the gas concentration is over the pre-set value. The hydrocarbon gas detection system offers full compliance and safety while maintaining a very small footprint.

The GASBAL Hydrocarbon Gas Detection System has up to 24 direct input channels (suction) and six inputs for standalone sensors (4-20mA inputs). The alarm outputs include dry contacts for gas alarm, system fault, horn and rotating lamp, and power supply fault. The system has a suction capacity of up to 400m along with automatic purge capabilities, and runs on a power supply of 115/230 Vac 50-60Hz. It can be operated in temperatures ranging from 0°C to 70°C.

The system offers the option to combine sampling methods and local gas sensors. It also supports Modbus RTU communication protocol and users can opt for a remote control unit.

Honeywell’s GASBAL Hydrocarbon Gas Detection System improves safety. It simplifies installation, takes very small space and reduces the cost of deployment and maintaining the gas detection system.

Impact Portable Gas Detector

The Impact range of portable multigas detectors monitors and displays up to four gases simultaneously, including flammable and oxygen gases, and up to two additional toxic gases. Designed for tough environment, the detectors are compact and rugged. Their small, lightweight and unobtrusive design makes them ideal for use in confined spaces where entry and exit may be difficult.

The Impact Portable Gas Detector is designed to work as per users’ requirements. Gas checks prior to entering a confined space can be carried out using a drop line, hand aspirator or via an optional built-in pump that turns on and off automatically when the sampling tube is connected.

Ultra-bright alarm lights and a powerful audible alarm, coupled with a periodic green flash and bleep, provide confidence to users that monitoring is always in operation and alarms are never missed. In addition, the gas detector uses a large, multi-lingual, backlit display with intuitive menu system to ease use and minimize operator training.

Sensors are housed in one of the two types of plug-in cartridges. A pre-calibrated disposable cartridge is used for oxygen, flammable, carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide sensors. The disposable cartridge can easily be replaced and then re-calibrated in less than two minutes using Enforcer, a unique calibration accessory designed to simplify operation, reduce downtime and minimize cost wherever possible. A serviceable cartridge is used for more exotic gases such as ammonia.

Honeywell’s Impact Portable Gas Detectors are easy to use, and can be maintained with minimal training with low cost of ownership. They provide reliable operation, and offer features such as durable housing, alarm indication and user-friendly pre-entry check.

Optima Plus IR Fixed Gas Detector

Searchpoint Optima Plus is an infrared point flammable hydrocarbon gas detector certified for use in potentially explosive environment. It is ideal for applications that require faster response time, reduced maintenance and fail safe operation.

Optima Plus is used for applications that may be deprived of catalytic bead poisons or inhibitors, or where there are harsh environmental conditions with increased time between routine maintenance. These include applications at offshore oil and gas platforms, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels, tankers, onshore oil and gas terminals, refineries, solvent printing and coating plants.

Its features include:

  • Fail safe operation reduces the need for maintenance
  • Immunity to catalytic poisons allows monitoring in atmospheres not suitable for bead type detectors
  • Self check routines run constantly, thereby ensuring stable operation
  • Wide range of detectable gases, including heavy hydrocarbons and solvents
  • Large range of accessories include Storm Baffle and Duct Mounting Kit.

Optima Plus uses the infrared detection principle that provides fastest speed of response. The IR principle allows detection without background oxygen, as required for bead type detectors, while the plug-in handheld device allows fault diagnosis, change of gas type and event log access.

Honeywell’s Optima Plus offers reduced maintenance, faster response time, and efficient monitoring. As it is meant for use in hazardous locations, the gas detector ensures improved levels of safety.
